Football Coaching & Employability Skills Course
Summary
This course is aimed at unemployed adults with an interest in football.
You will work with Karl Marginson, the manager of FC United of Manchester and other coaches from FC United and Skillz FC to learn;
- how to plan, deliver and monitor football training sessions.
- how to maintain physical fitness and support
- how to encourage other people to do the same
- how to develop your confidence.
- how you can use your coaching skills to impress employers and get a job
As part of the project you will be invited to help design and deliver a programme of sports-based activities for children living in the Sale West area during the Easter holidays.
You will achieve an Open Awards Level 1 Award in Skills for Coaching Football, an Open Awards Level 1 Award in Progression and Personal Development through Sport and a PEARL Employability Skills Award.
During the course of the project there will be help with how to use your football coaching skills and experience to enhance your employability and make the most of your experience in job interviews and job applications. At the end of the course we can support you in developing your career in sport and sports coaching.

Where?
The course will run be based at the Sale West Community Centre Newbury Avenue, Sale, M33 4QW.
When?
The sessions will run 12 hours per week, Mondays to Thursdays 11am to 2pm starting on Monday 20th January 2014 and finishing on 27th March 2014.
What else?
All participants will be invited to attend an FC United match as a guest of FC United and transport to the match will be provided.
Sandwiches will be provided for course participants in the Sunshine Cafe
Participants will receive free membership of the Sale West community centre gym for the duration of the project.
