FC United Summer Playschemes

FC United Summer PlayschemesThe FC United community team is delivering a programme of activities for children and young people in North and East Manchester which is our most ambitious to date.

These include;
  1. An all day sports camp in partnership with Abraham Moss Community School
  2. Drop in sports or football sessions for children and young people
  3. Some one off community events which our coaches are supporting
  4. Our highly regarded summer youth project for school-leavers

Everybody is welcome to attend.

All Day Play Scheme in partnership with Abraham Moss Community School

Our partnership with Abraham Moss Community School in Crumpsall continues to flourish. Sessions run from 10am to 3pm and children are asked to bring a packed lunch. Children have to pay to attend; £3 per day or £5 for the first week (which is a 3 day week) and £10 for subsequent weeks. The three weeks are;
  1. 30th and 31st July and 1st August
  2. 4th to 8th August
  3. 11th to 15th August

There are a range of different sports activities throughout the day as well as arts and crafts activities in the afternoons.

Drop In Sessions

These are free and usually last for two hours. They are taking place all over North and East Manchester. Here is the full list;

  1. Wednesday 23rd July 11am to 3pm sports activities for the over 50’s and their grandchildren at Whitemoss Youth Club.
  2. Thursday 31st July 11.30 am to 3pm, grassed area at Ashley Lane, Lightbowne. Multisports at a community event
  3. Friday 1st August 1.30pm to 3pm. Volleyball taster session at Our Lady’s Sports Centre, Blackley
  4. Saturday 2nd August 11.30am to 3pm Troydale Family Fun Day on the MUGA off Troydale Avenue in Newton Heath.
  5. Wednesday 6th August .30pm to 3pm. Volleyball taster session at Our Lady’s Sports Centre, Blackley
  6. Saturday 23rd August 10.30 to 3pm football tournament at MCA with Abraham Moss Warriors.
  7. Sunday 24th August 10.30 to 4pm North Manchester Community Games in Boggart Hole Clough.

Project for school leavers
Our summer youth project for school leavers who want to learn how to be a sports coach is running at four centres this year;
  • Sporting Edge, Openshaw and Clayton Youth Centre
  • MCMA, Moston
  • Abraham Moss Community School, Crumpsall
