What's the ground like?

Ironically named Victory Park, FC United have found it to be an easy hunting ground for three points. With a good win rate and an ever-increasing average attendance creating a bit of atmosphere; the short trip up to Chorley is always a good one. The Magpies purchased the land for £868 in 1919, before opening for business the following year and they have played at Victory Park ever since. In 1945, the Main Stand was destroyed by a fire and rebuilt in 1947, with capacity for 900 seated spectators. The Main stand also houses the player dressing rooms, dugouts and media facilities. The ground holds 4,100 divided up between the three main spectator areas; the seated Main Stand, the Duke Street End, and the Pilling Lane End. Behind one of the goals is The Duke Street End which has uncovered terracing at the front, leading up to some covered standing further back. Opposite is the Pilling Lane End which is a large covered terrace behind the goal. Facilities include toilets, a social bar and the snack hut called The Magpies Nest, offering a decent range of hot food and drinks. Ground review by FC United fan - Richard Jones.
