What's the ground like?

Wincham Park is a football stadium in Wincham, a parish on the edge of Northwich, England. The home ground of Witton Albion, it first opened in 1989. Capacity is 4,813 with 600 covered seats on the north side of the stadium. The other three sides of the ground are all standing: the Lostock End, Wincham End, and Popular Side. Wincham Park has not changed much since its construction although cover was added at both ends of the stadium in 1990. The floodlights were replaced in 2010 after supporters walked to nearby Runcorn to raise the funds. The stadium has had a number of names due to sponsorship deals; these include Brittania Carpets Stadium, Bargain Booze Stadium and its current name, The Help For Heroes Stadium. Local rivals Northwich Victoria and Runcorn Linnets have both ground-shared at Wincham Park.

Getting to the ground by public transport

The nearest train station is Northwich. The journey takes approximately 53 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly, followed by a 20 minute walk.

Getting to the ground by car

M6 junction 19, follow A556 towards Northwich for 3 miles then turn right at the beginning of dual carriageway onto A559. After 3/4 mile turn right at traffic lights at the Slow and Easy pub. After a further 3/4 mile turn left opposite the Black Greyhound Inn into Wincham Lane. Ground is 1/2 mile on left immediately after crossing the canal. All supporters are requested to park their vehicles on the main car park which is at the rear of the Lostock which is located at the far end of the access road (Chapel Street). ROADWORKS 2013 We understand that there are intermittent roadworks on Wincham Lane near to the Witton Albion FC ground at present, which may affect FC supporters travelling to their ground by car for the cup game next week on Tuesday 19th February 2013. General advice - if Wincham Lane is closed at the Black Greyhound crossroads next week - is to travel to the ground via Marston (A559 as below (i.e. towards Warrington)), then left turn on to B5075 (Ollershaw Lane) which is approximately ¾ mile further beyond the Black Greyhound), or to travel instead via Northwich (A559 Chester Way, then far right at the roundabout on to New Warrington Road).
