FC UNITED YOUTH 3 ALTRINCHAM YOUTH 2
FC United Youth completed a fifth home and away league "double" of the season in the Football Conference Youth Alliance on Wednesday afternoon with this narrow 3-2 home league win against Altrincham Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G.
After a number of missed chances at either end, it was centre-half NATHAN CHORLTON who opened the scoring on 40 minutes when he ran into the visiting penalty box and scored unopposed.
On 49 minutes, Altrincham Youth grabbed an equaliser when Jude Oyibo netted from close range from a long flighted free-kick that the home defence perhaps should have cleared.
On 61 minutes, CAMERON HORNER restored FC United Youth’s lead when he latched onto a Will Shawcross pass before running in on goal and placing the ball past the Altrincham goalkeeper.
On 73 minutes, Altrincham Youth levelled again when Alec Crowder beat the offside trap before expertly sliding his shot under Sam Baird in the FC United goal.
At this stage of the game, either side might have won it, but on 89 minutes, it was KAMAHL FULLER who grabbed a late winner for FC United Youth when he steered the ball home from a Cameron Horner pull-back to make the final score 3-2 in favour of the home side.
FC United Youth’s final FCYA fixture is their away league match against Guiseley AFC Youth (at Ilkley Town FC) on Wednesday 6th April 2016 - K.O. 1.30 p.m.).
