MYERSCOUGH COLLEGE MEN’S 3rds 1 HOPWOOD HALL COLLEGE (FC UNITED) 5

FC United’s academy team returned to the top of the ECFA North West Men’s Category 2B league with this 5-1 away victory against Myerscough College Men’s 3rds on Friday afternoon and need just one more point from their remaining two fixtures to make sure of the title.

The young Reds had to come back from going a goal down on 27 minutes, however, when Jake Unsworth’s low free kick skimmed past goalkeeper Sam Baird and in off the foot of the post.

Two minutes before half-time, KAMAHL FULLER netted for the visitors to make the half-time score 1-1.

On 66 minutes, a 30 yard effort by JACK WARD put FC United’s academy team in front for the first time, and on 68 minutes, the same player added another to make it 3-1.

On 82 minutes, CAMERON HORNER rounded the home ’keeper to make it 4-1 and on 89 minutes. STEEVE EDDY added goal number five to make the final score 5-1 in favour of FC United’s academy team.
