FC United of Manchester Youth team came back from two goals down to record a narrow win by the odd goal in seven in Wednesday afternoon’s pre-season friendly against West Cheshire College on the Broadhurst Park 3G.

The visitors from Ellesmere Port opened the scoring just after the quarter-hour mark when JOE FITZPATRICK’s close range effort looped over Adib Badri and into the home goal.

And on 32 minutes, the away team went 2-0 up when JAKE STINTON fired home across the face of the goal from 15 yards out.

Seconds before half-time, SAEM SAN netted from inside the goal area to give the young Reds a lifeline at the interval.

Four minutes into the second half, it was 2-2 when HARRY KERSHAW rolled the ball home from close range.

On 57 minutes, FC United Youth took the lead when MICHAEL PATTERSON curled the ball home from distance.

And on 70 minutes it was 4-2 when BEN TAMILA sent the West Cheshire College ’keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot after Haydon Mottershead had been fouled when entering the box.
