FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY ’A’ TEAM 2 OLDHAM COLLEGE MEN’S 2nds 3
Despite opening the scoring after just four minutes, FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team went down to a disappointing 2-3 home league defeat against Oldham College Men’s 2nds on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.
It was BEN TAMILA who netted the opener after great build-up play on the right by Lewis Unwin and Harry Kershaw, but within a couple of minutes, Oldham College had drawn level through HASAN ALI.
On 17 minutes, the home side regained the lead when NELSON ONWUSIRI ran in unopposed to score easily and that made the half-time score 2-1 in favour of the FC United Academy ’A’ team.
Within 5 minutes of the restart, however, DANIEL GRANT had scored a second equaliser for Oldham College, and on 52 minutes, BRYAN PITCHER broke free to put the away side 3-2 in front.
Lewis Williams saw a goalbound effort tipped wide on 71 minutes, but that was the nearest that the Young Reds got to forcing their way back to snatch a share of the points.
