Match Report

FC United crashed to a poor 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bradford Park Avenue with a performance that was as bad as the previous one at Southport was good.

The home side were on the front foot early in the game and took the lead on 17 minutes with a goal that was a carbon copy of the equaliser on Tuesday.
Oil Johnson got the better of Joel Senior on the left and stood a ball up to the far post for Adam Boyes to power home a header.

The half was poor football from both sides with no more clear chances, though BPA were the better side.

Avenue started the second half well and saw a few dangerous crosses blocked before the lead was stretched to 2-0. Tom Brown lost the ball and it found its way through to Wayne Brooksby who slotted past Lloyd Allinson.

The lead was extended on 65 minutes when Brooskby tapped into an open goal after a save from Allinson.

Between these goals FC stung the fingers of Steven Drench with long shots from James Hooper and Nathan Lowe but these were the closest FC came to troubling the hosts all afternoon.

The game ended with Allinson making three saves to keep the score down to a respectable level.

After the performance on Tuesday, there will be many scratched heads as to how FC United could put in such an abject display against a team who also seemed to be struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Website Man of the Match - Lloyd Allinson deserves some credit for a few saves that kept the score line down.
