FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team recorded a very useful 8-0 home win on the Broadhurst Park 3G against a Liverpool Football College XI in their latest pre-season friendly on Wednesday afternoon.

The Young Reds opened the scoring after just 12 minutes. Nelson Onwusiri went on a run down the left wing and his low cross was converted by MASON GREGG.

On 14 minutes, it was 2-0, as goalscorer turned provider, Mason Gregg setting up NELSON ONWUSIRI who calmly lobbed the ’keeper from just inside the penalty area.

Just before half-time KANE STOCKLEY made it 3-0 with a snap shot from 18 yards out to give the FC United of Manchester academy team a comfortable half-time lead.

There was to be no let up in the second half as substitute MAX LEWENS broke away from the visiting defence before placing it past the Liverpool goalkeeper to make it 4-0 on 56 minutes.

On 62 minutes, MASON YOUNG made it 5-0 with a shot into the corner of the net and on 77 minutes, STEVE AFFLECK made it 6-0 with a low free kick from 20 yards out.

And there was still time for MAX LEWENS to complete his hat-trick with two further goals on 85 and 87 minutes.
