Match Report
Another breathtaking late, late show saw FC United claim all three points against promotion rivals Guiseley and move into the play-off zone for the first time this season.

Tommy Turner headed home the winner with two minutes to go just 60 seconds after Jerome Wright had rifled home a stunning 25-yard equaliser as the Reds snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

United had trailed for the majority of the match following Simeon Bambrook’s 17th minute free-kick deflecting off Wright and past goalkeeper Sam Ashton. However, the Reds kept on going and despite the West Yorkshire side’s best efforts to shut up shop, United’s perseverance paid off.

Wright looked to have gained them a priceless point in the 87th minute with a superb goal out of nothing. But Margy’s men were not content to settle for a point and with many of the 1,986 supporters still celebrating, Adam Carden whipped in a cross for Turner to nod home – sending FC United up to fifth place and Gigg Lane wild in the process.

The only dampener on an otherwise fantastic day was United’s 24-goal top scorer Kyle Wilson was forced off after just 21 minutes with a knee injury.

More to follow.
