Match Report
A sunny afternoon in Stockport ended with honours even as FC United and Woodley played out a 1-1 draw.

FC scored first in the 21st minute, when the now not so secret weapon of Ryan Lyons’s long throw paid dividends again. Dylan Maloney got a headed touch by the near post that went goalwards. It looked to be going in and may already have been there when Jake Haslam appeared to make sure. Jake was the centre of post goal celebrations although that debate will probably run and run.

Woodley almost responded straight away when a free kick hit the post courtesy of a deflection off the wall. They were however level five minutes before half time when slack play by FC after clearing a Woodley corner, allowed Luke Lathom all the time in the world to put in a return cross and Matt Brady shot home unchallenged.

The half time team talk saw the lads rightly reminded about the need for more effort and after returning to learn of the Derby result, the second half was much more competitive. Dylan Maloney was unlucky with two good chances to restore the lead in the first five minutes.

Clear chances were few and far between for the rest of the game although FC were probably more disappointed with the final outcome. Roshgar Mousa came closest, hitting the post after getting the better of the Woodley defence when chasing a long ball forward in the 80th minute. Woodley had half chances themselves including one shot narrowly wide soon after.
