Match Report
On a blisteringly hot day in South London, a goal in each half saw League Two Wimbledon beat FC United 2-0.

It was the Wombles who started the brightest when skipper Barry Fuller saw a header superbly tipped over by James Spencer.

On 21 mins, Mike Norton was sent clean through but the keeper was equal to him and blocked the shot.

The home side were unlucky not to take the lead on 25 mins when a shot from Charlie Strutton rattled the bar.

Just after the half hour, it was Jerome Wright to the rescue when he cleared a shot from the line.

The home side was certainly in the ascendency and it was no surprise when they took the lead. Fuller found himself clear on the left hand side and his cross was tapped in by Luke Moore.
During half time, Karl Marginson again took the opportunity to change the full team with 11 changes.

Just before the hour mark, Jon Worsnop made a good save from Strutton, the follow up shot being fired over.

On 67 mins, the lead was extended when a shot was cleared from the line Cavil Coo, the ball was worked back into the box where Harry Pell, who featured against FC last season for Hereford, headed home.

In all honesty the heat and substitutions started to take their toll on the game but on 75 mins Worsnop produced a superb tip over from a shot by Jim Fenlon.

In injury time a corner from Ollie Banks was headed wide by Charlie Raglan but in truth the home side were good value for their 2-0 win.
