FC United to host Supporters Direct regional event on 10 February

FC United is delighted to be hosting Supporters Direct’s first regional meeting of 2016 at Broadhurst Park on the evening of Wednesday 10 February.

Any football supporter from the North West can attend the meeting but there is a charge for those whose club or trust is not a member of Supporters Direct. People are welcome to attend from 6pm for a tour of the facility; refreshments will be served from 6:30pm with business beginning at 7pm and the meeting closing by 9:30pm.

The Supporters Direct North West regional meeting will have the overarching theme of fundraising and is aimed at giving trusts and clubs ideas on how to raise capital for projects, provide information on available grant funding as well as talk about long term, consistent, sustainable fundraising schemes.

Attendees will hear from a headline speaker from the Heritage Lottery Grant Funding who will discuss current grant opportunities open to community benefit societies as well as how to successfully apply for funding. The evening will also feature a panel of guest speakers from across the supporters trust network who will talk about recent projects they have undertaken and how the funding required for these was achieved.

There will also be a networking session with a fundraising theme as well as opportunities for delegates to talk about their own funding issues or funding achievements.

The evening is an excellent chance to get ideas for projects and research possible funding for supporters trusts or community-owned clubs, as well as a great opportunity to share ideas and network with likeminded people and groups.
