The FC United Women’s team will play their first ever match on the main pitch at Broadhurst Park on Bank Holiday Monday, 2 May 2016, when they face Wallasey Athletic FC Women in a charity game in aid of the charity Stroke Information.
Admission for the game will be pay on the gate and the prices are Adults £5, Concessions (over 60s, students with valid NUS card) £3, Under-18s £1. The main stand only will be open for the match, which has a mixed seating and standing capacity of nearly 1,000. The FC women’s team have previously attracted crowds of around 500 for cup finals on neutral grounds so as this is a showpiece event on a bank holiday at the end of season we hope that it will attract a decent crowd.
The function room and main bar will be open serving drinks. We have booked one of our regular mobile catering units so burgers / hot dogs / chicken / chips etc will be available for purchase outside the ground. The function room and bar will remain open after the match for as long as people wish to drink.
We are very pleased to announce that Premier League referee Kevin Friend has agreed to officiate at this match. Kevin hit the headlines recently over the choice of referees for key matches and you can find out more about Kevin by
clicking here.
There will be a printed programme produced by one of the women’s team’s regular volunteers and printed by the club.
More information on the beneficiary charity Stroke Information can be found on their website at
http://www.strokeinformation.co.uk We will also be making a donation to AFC Manchester Girls, the girls team section of our partners Moston Junior Football Club. The amount will be determined by the success of the event.
All supporters are urged to support this event on bank holiday Monday. It’s for a great cause and it’s a great way of celebrating the FC women’s team’s first ever match on the Broadhurst Park grass pitch.
