Women's Team Trading Cards

Before the men’s team battle in a Christmas double header against Altrincham, the women face their own kind of double act against two tough opponents, both coming from the wrong end of the East Lancs Road.

Firstly they face Liverpool Marshalls Feds Reserves, who currently sit in third spot as the Reds look to continue their terrific momentum in the title race.

That game is this coming Sunday, with the monster clash against Merseyrail Bootle on the 11th. Both are 2pm at Broadhurst Park, but the second match brings the return of something from days gone by.

There has always been a programme on sale at home games, excellently produced by Rob Fullen, but from this game onwards they will include a free football trading card, inserted in each one.

They are, as you can see below, cards of the women’s players from season five, with stats and a football question on the reverse. There are currently 26 to collect (did I hear anyone say swapsies), and with a minimum of six home games plus some cup encounters to go, it might mean a chance at the end of season to top up your collection.

The cards are more about fun raising than fundraising, but they should do both, so get yourself to that ground, cheer them on, buy a programme and start collecting.
