On Saturday 25th March, kick off 3pm, FC United welcome promotion chasing FC Halifax Town to Broadhurst Park for the first time in the National League North – Admission for home supporters is pay on the gate: £9 Adults, £5 Conc, £2 u/18s.

FC United, currently in 13th place on 43 points, go into Saturday’s match with Halifax on the back a 2-1 defeat against Alfreton last Saturday, which ended a 3 match winning streak for the Reds. FC had hoped to bounce back quickly with a game against Curzon Ashton on Monday but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The match with Curzon has now been rearranged to Monday 27th March kick-off 7.45pm

FC Halifax Town are currently 5th in the table on 61 points, and in their last five matches they have won 2 drew 1 and lost 2.

When FC United and Halifax met earlier in the season, Halifax were comfortable 3-1 winners in a match that saw striker Tom Denton scoring two goals within the first 20 minutes. FC United have yet to win a competitive match against Halifax, also losing 4-1 and 1-0 in the Northern Premier League in 2010/11 season, with Jamie Vardy playing in both matches for Halifax.

Another big crowd is expected at Broadhurst Park on Saturday, so fans are encouraged to get to the ground early.

COURSE YOU CAN MALCOLM

CYCM returns to the Main Stand Bar on Saturday, where we we’ll be having four brush-wielding artists fighting it out courtesy of the hugely popular art event, Art Battle Manchester. We’ll also have live music from St. Helens indie band Stillia and guest speakers talking to us about all things St. Pauli.

12:00 Doors open

12:45 St. Pauli talk – Our Sankt Pauli supporting guests discuss all things Boys in Brown related (not to be confused with Mrs. Brown’s Boys. Which is a completely different, and much worse, thing)

1:20 Art Battle – Four artists, four paintings, one winner

2:20 Stillia – Johnny Vegas’ fave band

3:00 The finishing touches are applied and the work of art and we’ll also have a game of football to watch on the main pitch.

CYCM’s will take up two thirds of the room, with the other third open as a bar so you can enjoy a pint in peace. Once you’re in the ground, entrance to CYCM is free, just head to the Main Stand (through the turnstiles if you come after 1pm).

Please try and get there as early as possible (come in through the main entrance and up the stairs if you arrive before the turnstiles open), as we’re anticipating it’s going to get busy. So busy in fact, we’ll have hand stamps allowing you to get in and out as you please. We don’t want you not getting back in if you’ve popped out, as that’d just be cruel. And we don’t want that.

BARS AND FOOD

The Main Stand Function Room Bar will serve hot food together with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks before and after the match. Alcohol will not be sold in the function room at half time but soft drinks, teas and coffees and food will be available.

Before the turnstiles open at 1pm, access to the Main Stand Function Room Bar is via the main reception by payment of the match admission price, or on production of the relevant Season Ticket voucher. After the turnstiles open, entry to the function room will be via turnstiles 1 to 6 and then through the seated area of the main stand.

The SMRE Bar situated under the St. Mary’s Road End terrace will serve draught beer and bottles before the match and at half-time. Hot food, including the Broadhurst Burger, tea and coffee will also be served at the far end of the SMRE Bar.

Under the Main Stand Food Bar will serve hot food prepared by our chef and pies from Mettricks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Herbies located adjacent to turnstiles 1-4 at the St. Mary’s Road End will serve hot food and non-alcoholic drinks before the match and is also accessible during half time.

From central Manchester head out of town on the A62 Oldham Road until the junction with Monsall Road. Turn left and pass Central Park Metrolink on your left and take the next right at the roundabout and follow the road ahead straight across another roundabout which takes you onto Lightbowne Road. Follow the road for around half a mile and you will see Broadhurst Park on your right hand side.

From the M60 – Clockwise
If travelling via the motorway network from the north and west, head for the M60 Manchester ring road. Leave the M60 at junction 20, then turn onto the A664. At the traffic signals turn left onto the A6104. Travel straight on and then at the Greengate roundabout take the 4th exit onto Lightbowne Road, the B6393. Carry straight on for around a half a mile and Broadhurst Park is on your left.

From the M60 - Anti-clockwise
If travelling via the motorway network from the south and east, head for the M60 Manchester ring road. Leave the M60 at junction 22, then straight on to Hollingwood Avenue, the A6104 . Travel straight on and then at the Greengate roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lightbowne Road, the B6393. Carry straight on for around a half a mile and Broadhurst Park is on your left.

CAR PARKING

We would urge supporters to use the car parks we have available for a charge of £5.00 at the ground and for £3.00 at the nearby St Mathews School, only 3 minutes’ walk of the ground. We have arranged with St Mathews to increase the area available to use for matchday parking and £3.00 for secure and monitored parking is very reasonable and helps us in our relationship with our Moston neighbours.

We are under a duty to ensure areas such as St Mary’s Road and the north of Nuthurst Road are not used by visitors to Broadhurst Park.

Supporters should be mindful that there is no parking on:
  • St Mary’s Road and the streets off St Mary’s Road;
  • Nuthurst Road;
  • the West side of Moston Lane and the streets off it.

  • We can always use more volunteers to act as traffic marshals and indeed for a number of matchday functions, so if you can help, send an email to John Davies johndavies@fc-utd.co.uk or telephone the office on 0161 769 2005 and leave a phone number for him to contact you to discuss.

    Enjoy the game.
