Player Profile

Forward Chris Sharp (32) has agreed to stay at FC United this season. Sharp joined us in December 2018 and made 17 appearances and scoring on 3 occasions. Manager Neil Reynolds said “For me to bring back Chris was a no brainer. Chris has the experience and qualities to succeed at this level. He is a leader and supports the younger lads in the dressing room. Chris has an infectious character and was desperate to stay at the club. He has really taken to the fans and wants to repay their loyalty. Chris will have a big part to play next season both on and off the pitch.” Sharp added “From coming into the squad last year, I understand what the club is about and how much it means to the fans. And it means a lot to the players coming into the squad. Why wouldn’t you want to play football here?” Sharp started his career at Rhyl in Wales and went on to sign for Bangor 2008. In 2010, he signed for TNS and was top scorer in his first season, which included scoring a Champions league goal against Anderlecht. At the start of the 2011/12 season, he made the switch to AFC Telford United, before signing for Hereford United in 2013. In 2014 he joined Stockport County, and was called-up to the England C team. At the start of the 2015/16 season, he moved back to Wales to join Colwyn Bay, though in the November, he was lured to join the revolution at Salford City, but after just a month, moved to Marine FC. In the 2016/17 season he joined Bradford Park Avenue and in 2017/18 he played for Alfreton Town. At the start of the 2018/19 season he joined Curzon Ashton but moved across the borough to join Stalybridge Celtic at the start of September. He made his FC United debut as a substitute in FCs 2-0 home win against Curzon Ashton in December.
