FC UNITED YOUTH 3 MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY 4

Manchester Metropolitan University completed a home and away league "double" against FC United Youth in the Football Conference Youth Alliance with this 4-3 away win on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon, with the winning goal being scored in time added on.

The visitors took the lead on 19 minutes when Will Nowell outstripped the home defence before shooting past FC United ’keeper Joe Valentine.

On 24 minutes, Manchester Metropolitan University added a second when Taylor Kennerley was left unmarked before scoring from an acute angle.

And on 40 minutes, worse was to follow for the home side when Will Nowell intercepted an underweight throw-in to score and make it 0-3 at half time.

Within 15 seconds of the second half restart, FC United had pulled one goal back when JACK WARD collected a Michael Jones pass to score comfortably.

On 52 minutes, it was 2-3 when ROBSON BUCKLEY scored from the 12 yard spot after Darius Palma had been fouled inside the penalty area.

And on 75 minutes, it was 3-3 after CHARLIE SYKES crashed a Jack Preston corner in off the crossbar.

But with FC United Youth pressing in the closing stages for a possible late winner, MMU’s Taylor Kennerley broke away in the 91st minute to score the decisive goal to make the final result 4-3 in favour of MMU.

FC United Youth’s next scheduled FCYA league game is an away fixture against Hyde United Youth (Wednesday 16th March 2016 - K.O. 2.00 p.m.).
