Match Report
In the absence of first team action due to the postponement at Solihull FC United’s support looked back to Broadhurst Park. Goals from Marius Isdruga, Cameron Horner, Michael Jones, Keenan Tuck and Joel Bestley saw those that braved more rain were rewarded with a 5-1 win against Bradford RIASA.

A bright start by the reds saw Horner and Jack Ward go close in the first five minutes before Kamahl Fuller won a corner in the sixth minute. The cross from Will Shawcross evaded a host of bodies before Isdruga headed home at the far post. The remainder of the first half was a closely fought affair with both sides creating chances but neither scoring. Fuller and Ward had chances although the highlight of the half was an over enthusiastic lunge for a ball already out of play by Jordan Rouse the RIASA left back which nearly took out Richard Brown and Rhodri Giggs on theFC touchline. Whilst the referee saw only the need for a stern word there, his enthusiasm was repeated late in the second half.

RIASA could have equalised in the closing few minutes of the half, two free kicks; Ben Potter clearing the first for a corner, the second evading everyone and going out for a goal kick. Then a careless touch from an FC free kick gave the visitors a clear sight of goal, Josh Rosenstrauch cursed the presence of Andrew White ahead of him as the shot deflected off White’s back for a goal kick.

The second half was less of a contest as the home side took control. On 50 minutes it was 2-0; Jerome Wright calmly broke up a RIASA attack, seeing the ball back to Ben Jupp. His long kick reached Horner via Shawcross and the striker was able to run beyond the defence to fire into the far corner. Four minutes later it was 3-0, a Shawcross corner was played short to Jones and his Rooneyesque effort curled into the top corner. Jones then had another good chance before Giggs made a triple substitution in the 62nd minute; Joel Bestley, Robson Brown and Keenan Tuck replaced Jack Ward, Will Shawcross and Kamahl Fuller.

It had become clear that the best chance of a RIASA goal would be from FC United mistakes, in the 65th minute a clearance hit White in the chest and rolled wide, prompting the next FC attack in which a ball from left to right found Tuck and with the aid of a slight deflection, his shot went in. RIASA did pull a goal back soon after wards when another mistake allowed Michael Rincon the space to fire home.

FC United completed the scoring in the 77th minute when another corner, this time from Brown was met by Bestley with a near post header. From there the reds closed out the game without further alarm; Horner and Brown found themselves clear of the defence but were ruled to be offside. In the dying moments Rouse was sent off for another lunge, this time at Isdruga.
