FC UNITED of MANCHESTER 0 BOLTON WANDERERS XI 1
Championship side Bolton Wanderers edged home past a dogged FC United side, at a rain soaked Broadhurst Park with a well taken goal on 30 minutes.

The home side came closest to scoring in the opening exchanges with Danny Wisdom playing a one two with Connor McCarthy, Jake Turner pushing the shot by Wisdom past the post.

The deadlock was broken when the FC offside trap was beaten on the right hand, the ball being crossed to a trialist who finished well at the far post past Lloyd Allinson. The Reds almost equalised just before half time but a long-range Nathan Lowe shot was saved by Turner.

The second half was, as expected, punctuated with changes on both sides. On 56 minutes Lewis Lacy had a glorious chance to equalise when he picked up a lose Bolton backpass only to shoot straight at Turner when one on one.

FC finished the game brightly with Jason Gilchrist going close to scoring on a couple of occasions but the game ended with just the one goal splitting the sides.

Website man of the match: Jordan Fagbola. Edges the award ahead of Danny Wisdom for a commanding performance in the centre of the FC defence.
