FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team came back from a two goal deficit to take a share of the points following this 2-2 away draw in the ECFA NW Men’s Invitation 2A league against Connell Sixth Form College Men’s 1sts on Manchester City FC’s Community 4G pitch on Wednesday afternoon.
Connell Sixth Form College had taken full advantage of early hesitancy in the FC United defence to go two goals up after with scores after just 12 minutes and 17 minutes.
The Young Reds grabbed a lifeline on 28 minutes when SAM HARDING’s long range effort hit the crossbar, before looping into the air and then spinning over the goal-line, this despite the best efforts of the home ’keeper.
On 62 minutes, the FC United Academy ’A’ team drew level when KANE STOCKLEY was in the right place at the right time to steer the ball home from a left wing corner.
And Temi Oropo might have snatched a late winner for the visitors, but his curling shot from the edge of the penalty area was expertly tipped onto the crossbar by the home net minder.
