FC United of Manchester went down to a 2-4 home defeat in their final pre-season match, this against English Football League - League One outfit Rochdale AFC at Broadhurst Park on Tuesday night, with the visitors coming back from a two goal deficit.

Things had started well for the home side as they took the lead on 12 minutes, Rochdale captain BRIAN BARRY MURPHY scoring in his own goal.

On 27 minutes, FC United went two up as LIAM DICKINSON netted for the home side from 30 yards distance.

The visitors pulled one back on 39 minutes through from OLIVER RATHBONE, before MATT GILLAM grabbed an equaliser on the stroke of half time, this after Dan Adshead’s effort had come off the post.

A second own-goal on 55 minutes, this time by an FC United defender and a fourth for the visitors by JORDAN WILLIAMS from close range on 64 minutes made sure of the final result.

FC United now look forward to their opening National League North fixture on Saturday 4th August, at Edgeley Park, against Stockport County F.C. (K.O. 3.00 p.m.) whereas Rochdale A.F.C. start their EFL League One campaign at Burton Albion.
