FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'A' TEAM 0 YONG-IN FC UNDER 17s 8
FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team received a tough footballing lesson on Monday afternoon as they went down 0-8 against the touring Jong-in FC under 17s outfit from South Korea on the Broadhurst Park 3G.

Declan Sweeney went close for the home side with an effort fired straight at the South Korean keeper on 13 minutes, but after that it was virtually one-way traffic as the well-drilled visitors stepped up a couple of gears.

On 16 minutes, the dangerous MIN GYEONG HYEON scored the first of his three first-half goals from the edge of the area, his second coming on 34 minutes and his hat-trick goal on the stroke of half-time. He also managed to strike the foot of the post on 36 minutes but that particular effort rebounded straight into Matthew Crosby’s hands.

The South Korean visitors didn’t ease up much in the second half.

On 50 minutes, JOO DAE SOL made it 4-0, HAN DONG MIN made it 5-0 less than a minute later with a shot into the top corner, before JEON MOON SOO made it 6-0 on 62 minutes and the same player then made it 7-0 on 65 minutes.

LEE HYEON GYU rounded off the scoring with goal number eight from the penalty spot on 83 minutes.

FC United’s Kai O’Neill had the chance to net a late consolation for the Young Reds on 86 minutes, but shot wide.

The FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team will be extremely disappointed at having been beaten so comprehensively by the visitors from South Korea but will draw some comfort from the knowledge that they are unlikely to face such a technically proficient outfit again anytime soon this season.
