FC United of Manchester Youth went down 1-3 at home to Salford City Youth in Wednesday afternoon’s National League u19 Alliance fixture at a wet and windy Broadhurst Park 3G.

The visitors opened the scoring on 13 minutes when DOUGLAS JAMES-TAYLOR collected the ball at the edge of the area before placing the ball past net minder Tom Bamber.

On 36 minutes, it was 2-0 to Salford. ALEX DOYLE took full advantage of a defensive mix-up in the FC United defence to net easily.

Three minutes later, FC United of Manchester Youth pulled one back. Jan Palinkas sent over a looping cross from the right, and ABDUL MUKTADIR was in the right place to slot the ball home after the Salford ’keeper fumbled his catch.

But the visitors made sure of the final result in the 55th minute when DOUGLAS JAMES-TAYLOR headed home following a corner.
