FC United of Manchester Youth team suffered a narrow 2-3 home reverse at the hands of City of Liverpool Youth in Wednesday afternoon’s National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ league fixture on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.

The visitors from Merseyside opened the scoring on 8 minutes when a long range effort from outside the area by KURTIS PEARSON drifted over Tom Bamber and into the FC United goal.

On 35 minutes, FC United of Manchester Youth drew level. A deep cross from Max Lewens on the right touchline found ABDUL MUKTADIR who forced the ball over the line, this despite the best efforts of a City of Liverpool defender.

Just two minutes later, however, and City of Liverpool FC Youth were back in front. Hesitancy in the FC United defence allowed JULES HAMILTON to nip in and score.

Into the second half and on 49 minutes, it was 2-2. A free kick from Kane Stockley on the right was headed goalwards by substitute DILLON KIRKMAN into the top corner for a well-taken equaliser.

Goalkeeper Tom Bamber then looked to have ensured that FC United would take a share of the points with a fine point blank save from Matthew Griffiths on 63 minutes.

But it wasn’t to be when KURTIS PEARSON was allowed to steer the ball home from the edge of the FC United penalty area on 70 minutes for his second of the match to give the visitors all three points.
