A somewhat out-of-sorts FC United of Manchester Youth team were blown away by Salford City FC Youth on Wednesday afternoon, going down by six goals to nil at windswept Partington Sports Village in their last but one National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division away fixture of the 2018-2019 season.

The first goal was to prove crucial, and with Salford adapting better to the testing conditions, it came after 23 minutes when SAM TWIST crisply finished a cross sent over from the left.

On 31 minutes, it was 2-0. FC United ’keeper Mason Walker could only parry an on-target effort, and the Salford No. 9 SAM TWIST was on hand to steer the loose ball home.

Three minutes later, it was 3-0, as ANOINTED CHUKWU fired home a low shot.

On 48 minutes, SIMEON BURROWS curled home goal number four for Salford, and there was still plenty of time left for the home side’s EMMANUEL OGUNRINDE and DANIEL THOMPSON-EDWARDS to net goal numbers five and six in the 68th and 71st minutes respectively, to make the final score 6-0.

FC United of Manchester Youth are back in action next Wednesday (20th March 2019) when they host Crewe Alexandra Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G (KO 1.45 pm).
