Triailist Ottoo scores late winner for FC United at Fulwood Amateurs
FC United scored a late late winner to take the spoils at Fulwood Amateurs with a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from trialist Ottoo.

The Reds started brightly, passing the ball round well and carving chances out. The first on five mins when Morgan Homson-Smith headed back into the six yard box but Nathan Burke could only head wide.

Lots of crosses were coming in from both sides, Adam Dodd putting in a ball that Finlay Sinclair-Smith sliced wide. Sinclair-Smith had another chance when he cut in from the left but saw Luca Di Niro tip wide.

FC United didn’t seem to be having much luck, hitting the post twice in as many minutes through Homson-Smith and Jack Lenehan. At the other end, Fulwood had a chance when Matty van Wyk, who played for FC United in our first two pre-season games, went clear but Ollie Martin saved well.

The second half saw the usual introduction of substitutes and van Wyk had another chance saved by Martin as the home side started well. FC still saw most of the ball but chances were fewer with trialist Cull firing straight at the home keeper. A mix up in the FC defence saw Martin have to tip a chance onto the bar.

Just as the game seemed destined to finish 0-0, a cross from the FC right eluded everyone and was picked up by youth player Tyler Owen who crossed to triailist Ottoo who finished well into the bottom corner.
