Last gasp United do it again
Stuart Rudd hit a sensational last gasp overhead kick winner to keep FC United’s title dreams alive as the Reds overpowered Woodley Sports 2-1 in front of 1,066 at Lambeth Grove on Easter Monday.

United looked like they were heading for another disappointing draw against one of the league’s struggling sides but Rudd came off the bench to grab a much deserved victory against a Woodley team that had looked threatening throughout but tired towards the end.

The hosts snuck into the lead two minutes into the second half through Maguire but Jamie Baguley bagged his first goal for United to equalise with a spectacular scissor kick after being teed up by substitute Rudd and then there was only going to one winner.

Rudd, who has been struggling to regain his goal scoring touch after nearly four months on the sidelines, hit a screamer that was worthy of any level of football and one that will not only boost his confidence but that of his team mates as well as FC United continue their push towards a third consecutive title.
