FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'A' TEAM 6 EGERTON FC u17s 2
FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team hosted Egerton FC u17s from Knutsford on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Friday afternoon and recorded an encouraging 6-2 home win in their latest pre-season friendly.

The Young Reds took the lead after just 5 minutes, Sandro Da Costa sending in a low cross from the left, and JAIR DA COSTA applying the finishing touch.

On 13 minutes, it was 2-0, SANDRO DA COSTA firing in an innocuous looking shot that somehow spilled through the visiting keeper’s hands.

On 27 minutes, JAIR DA COSTA added his second, with a shot deflected into the goal off the opposition No. 12.

And on 31 minutes, it was 4-0, Luke Atkinson setting up SANDRO DA COSTA for the latter’s second.

Four-nil down at the interval, Egerton FC pulled one back from the penalty spot on 56 minutes after Nathaniel Egyiri had tripped FREDDY LLOYD. The same player picked himself up to place his spot kick just wide of FC United keeper Fernando Mboke.

On 60 minutes, it was 4-2, another foul inside the penalty area, and this time FREDDY LLOYD sending Mboke the wrong way from the 12 yard mark.

But just when it looked that there might be a way back into the game for the visitors, FC United scored a crucial fifth goal on 66 minutes, substitute Ramsey Yakubu dispossessing an Egerton defender before setting up TOM CASSIDY for the easiest of close range finishes.

And there was still time for RAMSEY YAKUBU to get on the scoresheet himself, when he again stole the ball from a visiting defender, before netting goal number six on 76 minutes, to round off a 6-2 win.
