Eat and Drink for FC
The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted an earlier story about FC United having more control over the two bars associated with Gigg Lane. Sorry we removed the initial story while we continued to tie up arrangements. We’re still working on the fine details, but we’d like to confirm that from the start of this season some of the profits from the use of these bars will be going to our own club.
Starkie’s bar will be open with a range of drinks and food. This is a "can only" arrangement with ALL profits going to FC.
Due to the limited capacity access is strictly for members + 1 guest only on a first come first served basis. Membership cards must be shown to gain entrance and guests signed in. There will be no charge for entry and guests can enrol as members if they require, as membership forms will be available. Starkie’s will be open from 1.30pm for day and 6.30pm for evening matches, starting with our first home game against Garforth Town on Wednesday 22 August. Plans are still being finalised for how this bar will be used, including entertainment such as live bands before Saturday games. A further announcement will be made when the details are known.
Also on match days we are taking over the Bury FC Social Club. We will be charging a £1 entrance fee, with the entire fee going to FC. While the bar will continue to be run by Bury, FC United will be providing a range of food within the Social Club at very reasonable prices (hotpot, curry etc) and all food profits will be retained by FC. The Social Club will be open as per the usual hours, but please bear in mind that it may be required for Bury FC use after our matches.
Our manager, Karl Marginson plus any players not involved in the day’s game will be popping into both bars from time to time to mix with supporters.
The club have worked extremely hard in order to procure these facilities and we would urge all supporters to take advantage of the arrangements and ensure the continuing growth of our club.
