Free weekend for First Team

The first team has a break from the action this weekend because it is being dedicated to FA Trophy fixtures and the league has decided not to rearrange FC United’s programme.

If you still need a football fix though why not travel to Ivy Gardens, where FC United Reserves will play Congleton Town Reserves? These two teams have already met this season at the Abbey Stadium where FC United won in an impressive 5 - 2 victory.

Alternatively, on Sunday FC United’s under 18s play Daisy Hill at New Sirs. These two teams have also met this season and again it was FC United who came out on top with a 4-0 thrashing of Daisy Hill.

Directions - On approch to Congleton, via Clayton by-pass, take 2nd right after Fire Station into Booth Street, at end of Booth Street turn right, then 1st left, ground at top of the road.

Daisy Hill v FC United under 18s, New Sirs, St James Street, Westhoughton, Bolton, BL5 2EB, kick off 2:30pm.

Directions - M61 to junction 5. A58 (Snydale Way/Park Road) for 1½ miles. Turn left into Leigh Road (B5235) for 1 mile to Daisy Hill. Turn right into the village 200 yards after the mini roundabout, left between church and school into St James Street. The ground is 250 yards on the left.
