New players sign on

Karl has added four new players ahead of the FA Cup tie against Nantwich tomorrow whilst Nick Robinson has been given permission to talk to other clubs and Danny Allen and Shaun Roscoe have joined the posse of ex-FCers at New Mills.

Karl has been concerned with our early season form: "The early season games have seen us leak too many goals, injuries to key players have had an impact but we have not concede what I would call a ’good goal’ as yet, every one has been down to errors.

"Having said that we are always looking to improve the squad by bringing in quality players when they become available maintaining a healthy competition for places within the squad.

"Danny Warrender is a right-sided defender who can also fill in at centre half or in midfield, he is a player with league experience at Blackpool after having spent his early career at City and I believe he will prove to be a fantastic addition to the squad.

"Simon Garner is an experienced left back who can also play in midfield. He was at Stalybridge Celtic last season before being snapped up by Fleetwood Town, unfortunately his appearances have been limited resulting in him asking to be released from his contract.

"Simon is a big United fan, when I heard of his availability I didn’t think that we’d be able to get him because of the terms of his previous contract but having spoken to the lad he just wants to play football and his quality will be more than welcome.

"Alex Skidmore is a left sided player who is comfortable in either defence or midfield. He has been training with us for the last three weeks after being released by Rochdale. He is a young lad with a great attitude, and a great left peg, before joining Rochdale he was at Blackburn and I am sure that supporters will appreciate the Premiership schooling in his play.

"Finally, for this week at least, we have signed former Gambian under 20 international Kebba Bah. Kebba played up front for Gambia in the 2007 FIFA under 20s World Cup and has been training with us after he was recommended by the coaching staff at The Manchester College (formerly MANCAT).

"Mindful of what has happened to Wimbledon and others in the recent past, we are awaiting confirmation of his international clearance before he can be selected. Kebba is a highly versatile player who can play anywhere and I am looking forward to working with him."
