Danny Williams eyes comeback

Young forward Danny Williams is back in training and is hoping that this weekend may see him make his first appearance for FC United since breaking his leg against Whitby Town in October.

An FC United XI is set to play Manchester Maccabi, a Jewish club based in the heart of Prestwich, on Sunday as part of the commemorations for Holocaust Memorial Day on Tuesday 27th January. As well as offering FC United a good opportunity to support important activities in the local community, the match offers Karl Marginson and the rest of the management team the chance to give run-outs to a number of players.

Margy said: "Danny has been back in training and I’m hoping to get him involved on Sunday. We’re honoured to have been invited to take part in the day and are looking forward to the match."??

Williams joined the Reds from Daisy Hill in preseason after being voted North West Counties Football League player of the year, aged just 19. He put in a number of impressive performances for United, primarily on the right wing, for the first few months of the season before suffering the injury during the 0-0 draw on the Yorkshire coast.
