General Meeting Information

FC United of Manchester’s 2009 General Meeting is to be held on Sunday 29th March 2009 at MANCAT Openshaw Campus, Ashton Old Road, Openshaw, Manchester, M11 2WH. Registration opens at 12 noon for a 12:30pm start.

The formal notice, notes and ballot forms have been sent to all members either by post or by email.

Only members over the age of 16 are able to attend and vote at the AGM.

The Meeting will consider and vote on the following proposed resolutions and members’ vote:

Resolution 1

That the following wording from the FA Rules will be included in the Constitution of FC United Limited by being added verbatim to the society’s IPS Rules as an additional Rule 126 titled FA Regulations, with an introductory note stating "Where these regulations refer to ’Company’ it shall be deemed to apply to this Society."?? :

(i) "The members and the directors of the Company shall so exercise their rights, powers and duties and shall where appropriate use their best endeavours to ensure that others conduct themselves so that the business and affairs of the Company are carried out in accordance with the Rules and regulations of The Football Association Limited for the time being in force.

(ii) No proposed alteration to the provisions set out herein shall be effective unless the proposed alteration has been approved in writing by The Football Association Limited 14 days or more before the day on which the alteration is proposed to take place.

(iii) The office of (a/an Director/Officer or Official) shall be vacated if such person is subject to a decision of The Football Association Limited that such person be suspended from holding office or from taking part in any football activity relating to the administration or management of a football club."??

Resolution 2

That the following text is added to rule 62 of the IPS Rules of FC United of Manchester:

"Board members not seeking re-election should place on the password protected documents page on the official website, a short statement outlining their contributions to the board at the earliest opportunity this should be prior to the announcement of the AGM from which their resignation should take effect.
Board members seeking re-election should make their manifesto statements available on the same site not less than 24 hours prior to the announcement of the AGM at which they seek re-election."??

Members’ Vote

That either

a) A supporters’ competition is held in order to design the official home kit to be used for a period of at least two seasons commencing at the start of the 2009/10 season.
b) There will be no new design for the home kit next season.

Directions

Arriving by Car:

From the M60

Leave the M60 at junction 23 and follow signs for the
A635/A6140 towards Manchester passing New Smithfield
Market (2.5 miles) on your left. The college is accessible via Odell Street on your left (2.9 miles) directly opposite the Legh Arms Hotel. If you reach the junction with the A6010 Alan Turing Way, you have just gone past the college.

Arriving by Bus:

From City Centre (15 minutes)

On buses that go along Ashton Old Road (219, 220 & 221) ask
to be dropped off at Openshaw College. The bus stop is directly opposite the college.

On buses that go along the A6010 (53 & 54) ask to be dropped off on Pottery Lane near Openshaw College. Access the college through Whitworth Street.

Arriving by Train:

From Piccadilly Train Station (10 minutes)
From Manchester Piccadilly Train Station, take a train to Ashbury Station. On leaving Ashbury Station, turn left and take the first right turn onto Whitworth Street. The college is straight ahead.
