Margy demands a full 90 minute performance

Manager Karl Marginson has told his players they must repeat their first half performance against Stalybridge Celtic in Tuesday night’s FA Cup replay but this time make their dominance last for the full 90 minutes.

Margy, who is waiting to see how Adam Tong recovers from a neck injury before naming his side, said: "We’ve got to focus on the positives of the first hour because I thought we controlled the game. We were going forward, pressuring and doing the right things.

"But the last half hour was unacceptable and the lads need to respond to that. We were hanging on towards the end and we shouldn’t have found ourselves in that position after being 3-1 up."??

Tong is the only serious doubt for United and if he is not fit enough Rob Nugent is likely to replace him at centre-back. Margy will then make the tough decision of whether to name an otherwise unchanged side thereby giving Sunday’s players another chance to beat their Blue Square Conference North neighbours or to bring in some fresh legs as the Reds face Celtic for the second time in three days.

A trip to Northwich Victoria in the fourth and final qualifying round awaits for Tuesday night’s winner and the match will be settled on the night via extra-time and a penalty shoot-out if necessary.
