Print a poster, let's get closer!

This Saturday 2nd September should be another special occasion at Gigg Lane with BBC Radio Manchester present to see if FC United can extend their longest ever record of back-to-back victories to seven games and you can play your part with a poster.

The Reds have shot out of the blocks and have finished the first month of the season with an exceptional 100% record. They’ve scored 25 goals, conceded only one and there’s been some sublime football along the way as Margy’s men look far from being uncertain Division One new boys.

United are currently enjoying the best run ever in their brief history and they will be looking to continue that against Atherton Collieries this weekend. People under-18 are allowed into the game for free and there are no Premiership matches taking place on Saturday, so there could well be a bumper crowd for the game.

Bearing that in mind it’s an ideal opportunity to try to get people to come and watch FC United for the first time and the club would like to encourage all supporters to spread the word and bring down as many friends and family as possible on Saturday - enabling you to build bridges and get closer!

Our fledging football club is still growing and you can help it to do so. As well as inviting your friends, families and the in-laws, it’s not too late to visit the Downloads page in Merchandise and Media section of this website and print off a poster or two advertising Saturday’s game.

There’s four to chose from in black and white or full colour, print your favourite ones off and stick them on a notice board at your work, your local pub, your local takeaway or wherever you think’s best and help to spread the good word of FC United of Manchester.

Then come down on Saturday with your friends, family and even that work mate or bloke in the pub that you’re not too sure about (purely optional), cheer on the lads and let the rest of Greater Manchester know exactly what FC United is all about via Jimmy Wagg and his Saturday Sport Show on BBC Manchester.

You never know your sceptical mates might love it, the father-in-law might finally give you his blessing and your peculiar work/pub mate might even turn out to be pretty sound*.

FC United V Atherton Collieries is this Saturday 2nd September, kick off 3pm. Tickets are available on the turnstiles priced £7 adults, £5 OAPs and under-18s are free.

*FC United of Manchester take no responsibility if said work/pub mate not only turns out not to be ‘pretty sound’ but also takes your invite to the football to mean that you are now best friends for life and won’t leave you alone ever again.
