Chorley game this Saturday set up to be a cracker

FC United take on Chorley tomorrow in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League. Chorley, who at the start of the season were tipped to be in the running for promotion, currently lie 11th in the league, nine points behind FC.

Last season Chorley finished 3rd and hosted the play-off semi-final against FC United. FC turned in a great performance winning 2-0 in front of a crowd of 2,754 to go through to the play-off final where we eventually were beaten by Bradford PA’s 119th minute winner scored by a certain Tom Greaves, who now plays for FC.

When Chorley and FC met earlier in the season at Victory Park, FC’s Matty Tierney scored one of the goals of the season with a fantastic 30-yard free kick in the 87th minute, winning the match 2-1. You can view match highlights of that game here.

Tomorrow’s match is all set up to be a cracker as FC look to extend their unbeaten league run to eleven matches. Your support can make all the difference, as FC United captain Kyle Jacobs, says: "The atmosphere on Sunday for the North Ferriby game was like a cup final. The attendance of 2,465 was our highest gate of the season. I’ve said before what a difference it makes to the players to have such support behind us and Sunday was no different. It helps massively and really gives you a lift, especially when you are tiring towards the end of a game. We’re looking forward to more of the same support when we take on Chorley at Gigg Lane on Saturday."

You know what to do, get yourselves and your mates down to Gigg Lane and cheer the Reds on to another victory.
