FC United look to get back to winning ways at Worksop

FC United look to get back to winning ways at WorksopFC United look to get back to winning ways at Worksop Town tomorrow in a match where all of the gate receipts are being donated to Sheffield Children’s Hospital and there could be a surprise Spanish guest.

Following a tremendous run of 10 straight victories in the Evo-Stik Premier Division, the Reds have faltered in the last couple of weeks with two draws and a defeat, so Saturday’s tricky trip to Worksop takes on extra significance if we are to keep our promotion push on track.

After the disappointing result last Saturday, manager Karl Marginson has been pleased with the reaction of the players in training. He said: “Training has been great this week. We sat down with the lads and had a good chat.

“We were perhaps guilty of looking too far ahead at what we are trying to achieve by the end of the season rather than concentrating on each game itself. We’ve looked at in and we’re ready for tomorrow’s game to get back to playing as I know we are capable of.

“As disappointing as the Chorley game was we have only lost once in 13 league games and we know the players have the qualities and the determination to go on another run. But first it’s Saturday’s game at Worksop and we will be totally focused on putting in the type of performance that we are capable of against very good opposition.???

United have been boosted by the unlikely signing of Sergio Rodriguez Suarez, a 22-year-old midfielder who has been plying his trade for in the Spanish Second Division for Real Aviles. A deal has been struck for the player to gain experience of football in England. More to follow about Rodrigues as we have it.

Get yourself to that football ground.
