Bumper barrel collections to report

A big thank you to everyone concerned for helping to raise a magnificent £1,500+ for the FC Development Fund fom last two home games.

The Pound for the Ground team were glad to be back in the stirrups, as were all of us, last week at Gigg Lane for the two home games against Nantwich and Ilkeston.

At the Nantwich game the winning number was 0002 and the £200 was claimed at half time by an FC regular, who promptly put £100 into the barrels that night. 440 tickets were sold therefore £240 was paid into the DF. There was a second prize of a donated meal for two which was ticket number 1048.

We had a good start to the barrel count, thanks to the £100 donation from the Pound for the Ground winner, and when the bags of loose change and other monies were counted it came to a very tidy £295. There was also an absolute shed-load of old English and pre-Euro foreign coins, which have a very low value but can all be weighed in for scrap sometime this week. Also there was some other foreign stuff and 25 Euros - thanks to Gareth and Andrew for their contribution.

The lkeston game winning ticket was 0261 and £200 was again claimed at half time by another FC regular, who again tipped £100 into the nearest barrel. 770 tickets were sold and £570 was banked into the DF. The meal for two ticket number was 0652.

Once more the barrel count was off to a flying start thanks to the £100 from the Pound for the Ground winner. We also disposed of some Tunisian dinars for £25. There were numerous large bags of change, including one with nearly £20 of 5ps, a few notes and plenty of copper, which came to a resplendent £421 for the DF. Again there were around 30 Euros, so we now have nearly 200 Euros (all in coins) ready for changing to English pounds . . . as soon as our expat member comes over for a game!

Once again, massive thanks to all who contributed in any way. Don’t forget that if you have raised any money for the DF, large or small, then tip it in a barrel along with a note of your name and you can get a mention in our update reports.

Just before we finish, there’s just time for a quick catch up on other outstanding collections - after we had an email to say that some are missing from the official site. All are Pound for the Ground proceeds.
