FC United aiming for second spot as we host Stafford Rangers

FC United aiming for second spot as we host Stafford RangersFC United will move up to second or third place in the Evo-Stik Premier Division and within three points of leaders Chorley if we beat Stafford Rangers at Gigg Lane tonight.

A win will see the fifth-placed Reds leapfrog AFC Fylde and Worksop, as we finally play a game in hand on those two sides, and we could also overtake Skelmersdale if they fail to win at home to Witton Albion tonight.

The Reds have won seven consecutive league matches and a title challenge is a real possibility. However, manager Karl Marginson is reminding his players to take everything one game at a time and is warning against complacency.

Rangers are third from bottom in the division but the Reds suffered a last minute 2-1 defeat at Marston Road in September and will be wanting to avoid repeating the defeat. Margy said: “There are no easy games in this league but the players have enough ability to win these matches if they apply themselves.???

Get yourself to that football ground tonight to see if the Reds can keep the pressure up by beating Rangers and move within touching distance of Chorley.
