Three in, one out

The more discerning and observant supporters may have noticed that former captain Dave Brown was not only back in a red shirt on Wednesday night against St Helens but also scored the third goal.

Dave left United at the beginning of September to get more first team football with North West Counties Division One rivals Salford City, but apparently he missed the buzz of the fans too much so decided to come back.

The paperwork has finally cleared so the club can now officially confirm that your eyes have not been deceiving you - Dave is back.

The Reds have also signed Nick Platt from Stalybridge Celtic. Attacking midfielder Nick was at Liverpool FC from age nine until he turned 16, when he joined Burnley as an apprentice, playing for two years and making regular reserve appearances.

After his release from Burnley he had trials with Carlisle and Accrington Stanley, before joining Celtic in August this year. He has made two appearances for the Nationwide Conference North outfit this season, but has decided to drop down three divisions to play for United. The Reds have also signed a new goalkeeper John Ogden, more information will follow on John when it is available.

After being restricted to cameo roles this season, Adie Orr has decided to leave the club in pursuit of more first team opportunities. Adie will go down in FC United’s history as being the first player ever to score a hat trick for the Reds in the 5-1 demolition of Cheadle Town in the NWCFL Challenge Cup last October. Everyone at the club wishes Adie all the best for the future.
