Workington game Development Fund collection is new season's best

FC United’s home game against Workington AFC on 17 March saw another seasonal high for match-day fundraising for the club’s Development Fund.

Our Pound for the Ground sellers sold a magnificent 940 tickets and after deducting £200 for the winner, £740 went into the DF. There were three winning tickets:

- Ticket number 547 won the £200 and is not yet claimed
- Ticket number 639 netted the Fudge Village hamper and is not yet claimed
- Ticket number 62 won the deluxe ‘Swampy breakfast’ at the Boggart Hole Café and was claimed by FC regular Paul

The barrel collection on Tuesday unearthed another tremendous, heart-warming and very generous potpourri of contributions from the FC family totalling £401. £95 came from the catering crew supplying tea and coffee in the club room; £100 from an anonymous supporter; £10 from "Howard on the wing", thanking the ‘bucketeers’ for organising the barrel collections, and the usual assortment of bags of cash, loose change and notes. In addition there was 45 Euros, 15 US dollars and a selection of foreign banknotes and coins, some of which we have already changed for £120 ready for the next collection.

This means that the DF gained a grand total of £1,141 from the Workington game, the highest we’ve raised so far this season. So, the running total for the Development Fund at home games so far this season now stands at £14,265.

A massive thanks to all who contributed to the PFTG draw and the barrels. There are just three home games left to fill the barrels so we end the season on a fundraising high.
