Job Advertisement - Community Apprentice

FC United are looking to appoint a community apprentice to join our community and education team. The post would ideally suit someone starting out on their working life or looking for a fresh challenge. We are looking for a self-motivated and diligent individual who will provide support to our existing community and education programme. FC United believes that the current accepted model for owning and running football clubs can be improved if clubs sought a greater level of engagement with fans and the local communities in which they are located. FC United seeks to change the way that football is owned and run, putting supporters first and at the heart of club objectives. We aim to show, by example, how this can work in practice by creating a sustainable, successful, fan-owned, democratic football club that creates real and lasting benefits to its members and local communities. The new ground and associated sports and community facilities at Moston, North Manchester, are key elements in aiding the club to deliver these ambitions.

The full time permanent post will be based at FC United of Manchester’s new football ground and community sports facility at Broadhurst Park, Manchester where the immediate priority is to work in the North Manchester community. This post presents fantastic on the job training whilst gaining experience in all aspects of coaching and community outreach work.

The successful candidate will study towards gaining a Level 2 apprenticeship in partnership with Hopwood Hall College. The vocational aspect of the course will be located at Broadhurst Park with ongoing support from the Community and Education Manager.
All candidates must be able to evidence experience in the following key areas:

- Qualifications in English and Maths (GCSEs or equivalent).
- Experience of community engagement and development.
- Experience of volunteering.
- Experience of working to targets, achieving results and demonstrating continuous improvement.
- Punctuality and reliability
- Enthusiastic and motivated individual

Salary and benefits

- Salary dependent on successful candidate
- 37.5 hours per week
