On Saturday 15th April, kick off 3pm, FC United welcome Brackley Town to Broadhurst Park in the National League North. Admission is pay on the gate: £9 Adults, £5 Conc, £2 u/18s.

With our place in the National League North secured for next season, we go into the last 4 league matches of the season with the target of winning more games than we lose still achievable.
From the 38 games played we’ve won 12, drawn 12 and lost 14.

We begin on Saturday with a home match against Brackley Town, who still have play-off hopes currently sitting in 8th place, but just 4 points behind 5th place Darlington. On Easter Monday we then travel to Darlington, followed by another away trip to Nuneaton on 22nd April, before closing the league season at home to Gainsborough Trinity on 29th April. The following Thursday 4th May, we hope to round off the season by winning the Manchester Premier Cup at Oldham’s Boundary Park against a resurgent Stalybridge Celtic, who have recently beaten AFC Fylde and Kidderminster Harriers.

Off the field, our attention turns to the next season, with a big push on Season Ticket Sales to help boost our finances to allow us to invest in important infrastructure projects over the summer months.

Following last month’s General Meeting, FC United members voted for the continuation of our successful ‘Pay what you can afford’ Yearly Season Ticket scheme, which also sees the introduction of a Concession priced Season Ticket (minimum price £65) to complement our Adult Tickets (Min £100) and Under 18’s (Min £21).

We are however encouraging fans buying Adult Tickets to donate an additional £75 or more, to help boost our finances. We would also encourage fans buying Concession Tickets to also add a donation on top of their Season Ticket price.

FC Members also voted in favour of a 3 Year Season Ticket priced at £1,000. With a limited number of 200 available, we hope to raise £200,000 to allow us to build a pot of up to £200k of working capital to strengthen the club’s underlying financial position and support a number of projects.

3 Year Season Tickets are for home league matches only, so for the 63 matches over 3 years it’s the equivalent of paying £15.87 per match. However additional benefits such as a drinks voucher, Half Time Draw Voucher and an electronic version of the programme, means that the price of the 3 Year Season Ticket still provides excellent value for money.

We’d like to say a huge thank you for your support this season.

Our average crowds of 2,585 keeps FC United in the top six best supported clubs in non-league, behind former league clubs Tranmere, Lincoln City, Wrexham, Stockport County and Hereford.
We look forward to seeing you at Broadhurst Park for the last 2 remaining matches of the season.

NEW Pre-Match Entertainment: ‘If the Reds Should Play… Rotterdam 1991’

With special guest speaker Clayton Blackmore

Before Saturday’s home match, we will be hosting a brand new pre-match entertainment event in two thirds of the Main Stand Bar called “If the Reds Should Play…Rotterdam 1991??? which saw Manchester United beat Barcelona in the European Cup Winners’ Cup Final.

This light-hearted event is a great opportunity for fans to come together and share their stories from their United following days.
Doors open at 12 noon and the event will run until just before kick-off at 3pm.

Between 12 and 1pm we’ll be showing highlights of 1990/91 season on the screens in the Main Stand Bar, accompanied by a brilliant playlist of music from that era.

Between 1pm and 1.45pm we will have a number of talks from supporters about their experiences of watching United in Europe that season. We are also delighted to welcome Clayton Blackmore as one of our guest speakers.

The 1990/91 season was probably Blackmore’s most successful at United, scoring for the Reds against Pecsi Munkas at home and a 40 yard free-kick away at Montpellier. However, Blackmore’s clearance off the line in the closing minutes in the Final in Rotterdam to deny Barcelona an equaliser, is probably the moment that lives long in the memories of United fans that night.

We will also be showing the European Cup Winners’ Cup Final in its entirety on the TV screens in the Main Stand Bar. The first half will be shown without sound, due to the talks taking place, but at 1.45pm, we’ll turn the volume up and give you the opportunity to relive that momentous night in Rotterdam.

We’d also encourage fans to bring along memorabilia from that era whether it be shirts, scarves, flags, hats, programmes, newspapers cuttings, posters ticket stubs or photos. However, we would ask these supporters to take responsibility of their own items and take them with them at the end of the event at 3pm.

There is no additional charge to attend this event, it’s all part of the match day admission price of £9 Adults, £5 Concessions and £2 u/18s.

Before 1pm, access to the Main Stand Bar is via the Main Reception. After 1pm access can be gained through the Turnstiles.

FC UNITED TRAVEL SURVEY

In order to meet the conditions of our lease with Manchester City Council, we are required to conduct a travel survey once a season, whereby we gather data from our supporters by asking how they have travelled to the game that day.

Volunteers will be conducting this survey in and around Broadhurst Park on Saturday.

We are in need of volunteers in order to help gather as much information as possible, so if you are interested in helping us out on the day, please contact travel@fc-utd.uk

Any volunteers are kindly requested to meet outside reception at 1pm. The survey will start at 1.30 and finish at approximately 3.10pm

TANNOY MUSIC DJ SET

Following the last home games fan-takeover with FC fans choosing the entire pre-match and half time tannoy play list; for the Brackley game we’re doing things differently once again, with an exclusive pre-match DJ set from Shumbo Jebang, playing a housey/groovy vibe, well suited to an afternoon, and if the sun is out it will sound even better!

In case you’re wondering, Shumbo Jebang are a duo from Birmingham and Manchester inspired by the sounds of Berlin. They came together through a shared love of house and techno in the early noughties running a successful club night – Jumbo Shebang – at Manchester’s Joshua Brooks and after a brief hiatus they have reformed under their slightly adapted guise. With an unquenchable thirst for electronic music from the past and the present the duo pride themselves on a deep knowledge of the scene to deliver high quality sets covering a variety of styles with the mantra that no great record ever gets old........

DJ Sean Curtis (one half of the duo) is a Sale born lifetime United fan, FC United regular and a Moston resident who also helps out with coaching at Moston Juniors, he was on the pitch for their half time exhibition game vs Stalybridge.

Before the turnstiles open at 1pm, access to the Main Stand Function Room Bar is via the main reception by payment of the match admission price, or on production of the relevant Season Ticket voucher. After the turnstiles open, entry to the function room will be via turnstiles 1-6 or 9-12 and then through the seated area of the main stand.

The SMRE Bar situated under the St. Mary’s Road End terrace will serve draught beer and bottles before the match and at half-time. Hot food, including the Broadhurst Burger, tea and coffee will also be served at the far end of the SMRE Bar.

Under the Main Stand Food Bar will serve hot food prepared by our chef and pies from Mettricks and non-alcoholic drinks.

From central Manchester head out of town on the A62 Oldham Road until the junction with Monsall Road. Follow the road for around half a mile and you will see Broadhurst Park on your right hand side.

From the M60 – Clockwise
If travelling via the motorway network from the north and west, head for the M60 Manchester ring road. Leave the M60 at junction 20, then turn onto the A664. At the traffic signals turn left onto the A6104. Travel straight on and then at the Greengate roundabout take the 4th exit onto Lightbowne Road, the B6393. Carry straight on for around a half a mile and Broadhurst Park is on your left.

From the M60 - Anti-clockwise
If travelling via the motorway network from the south and east, head for the M60 Manchester ring road. Leave the M60 at junction 22, then straight on to Hollinwood Avenue, the A6104 . Travel straight on and then at the Greengate roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lightbowne Road, the B6393. Carry straight on for around a half a mile and Broadhurst Park is on your left.

CAR PARKING

We would urge supporters to use the car parks we have available for a charge of £5.00 at the ground and for £3.00 at the nearby St Matthews School, only 3 minutes’ walk from the ground. We have arranged with St Matthews to increase the area available to use for matchday parking and £3.00 for secure and monitored parking is very reasonable and helps us in our relationship with our Moston neighbours.

We are under a duty to ensure areas such as St Mary’s Road and the north of Nuthurst Road are not used by visitors to Broadhurst Park.

Supporters should be mindful that there is no parking on:
  • St Mary’s Road and the streets off St Mary’s Road;
  • Nuthurst Road;
  • the West side of Moston Lane and the streets off it.

  • We can always use more volunteers to act as traffic marshals and indeed for a number of matchday functions, so if you can help, send an email to John Davies johndavies@fc-utd.co.uk or telephone the office on 0161 769 2005 and leave a phone number for him to contact you to discuss.

    Enjoy the game.
