We are pleased to announce that FC United goalkeeper Lloyd Allinson has extended his contract at the club until the end of the 2018/19 season.

Allinson (24) joined the Reds from Chesterfield this summer and has played in all of our 25 matches this season.

Player/Manager Tom Greaves said “Myself and the rest of the backroom staff are delighted that Lloyd has committed to the club until at least the end of season 2018/19. This further show Lloyd’s attitude and commitment towards FC United. Lloyd has been great for us so far this season and has shown his quality week in week out and we feel Lloyd will only develop further and improve the more experience he gets. We are very pleased to have a goalkeeper of this quality as our number one going forward."

Damian Chadwick, CEO at FC United added, “We were pleased to capture Lloyd’s signature in the summer and his performances this season have emphasised his importance to the team. To secure Lloyd for next season is a clear message that the club is planning for next season early. I’m sure the supporters will be thrilled to know the big man will be in the nets here at FC next season and his new song will get plenty of airings!” (see below for lyrics)

Born in Rothwell in Leeds, Allinson joined Huddersfield Town at under-10 level. Whilst at Huddersfield he had two loan spells at Ilkeston during the 2011–12 and 2013–14 seasons before becoming a regular on Huddersfield’s first-team bench during the 2014–15 season. He eventually made his senior debut for Huddersfield on 7 May 2016.

In August 2016, the 6’ 3” keeper signed for Chesterfield after featuring for the club during pre-season. He made his Chesterfield debut on 30 August 2016 in a 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers U23 in the opening round of the EFL Trophy and went on to play a further 4 EFL Trophy matches and 5 League One matches.

Allinson made his first team debut for FC United in our first pre-season friendly away at Bohemian FC in July, and made his league debut away at Brackley Town on Saturday 5th August.

FC United Junior Member Jacob recently interviewed Lloyd for the ‘Children of the Revolution’ Podcast.

The Allinson song, aired for the first time on Tuesday 14th November against Alfreton to the tune of Agadoo.

In the nets here at FC
In the nets here at FC
To the left, to the right,
He jumps up and down and saves a pen
It’s a s*** ****ing song ,
but we’ll sing it once again”
