We begin our defence of the Frank Hannah Manchester Premier Cup tonight as we take on Glossop North End away from home.

We are currently defending champions having won the competition in the two previous seasons, beating the likes of Trafford FC on penalties and Stalybridge Celtic the year before.

Our opponents Glossop North End are also two-time winners of the competition having won the trophy in 1997 and 1998 respectively. In the last five games for Glossop, they have won one game out of those five, drawing once and losing the remaining three games.

Glossop finished 11th last season in the Northern Premier League Division One North with 53 points but have not fared well thus far this season as they sit in 19th place in the Northern Premier League First Division West.

In 2017 FCUM became the 24th club to win the Manchester Premier Cup competition since it began in 1934 as the Manchester FA County Shield.

The Reds have scored 43 goals in 16 MPC ties and have won their last 7.

The two clubs met at Broadhurst Park in this competition in October 2015, with FCUM winning 6-5 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

FC are unbeaten in their last three against Glossop.
