We were saddened to hear the news about the tragic passing of FC United member Peter Lee following a car accident on Tuesday evening - There will be a minute’s applause in memory of Peter at Saturday’s home match against Curzon Ashton.
Peter was a well-known and much-loved face around the local non-league scene and as well as being a member at FC United, he was also photographer for Radcliffe FC.
Travelling back from Radcliffe’s midweek match, Peter was sadly involved in a fatal car accident, which also sees his daughter Beth - who is a fellow FC follower - in hospital and in a serious condition.
News of Peter’s death has shocked many in the game and tributes instantly flooded in paying respects to what many called “the nicest man you are likely to meet”. Peter really was one of the world’s good ’uns and he will be missed by many.
Whilst passing our sympathies and thoughts on to Peter’s family and friends at this terrible time, we will also be thinking of Beth and hoping that she can recover from her injuries and make a full recovery.
