Foreign currency campaign June 2019 update

The final foreign currency exchange for the 2018-19 season was made in April, and an amount of £103 was added to the Development Fund. This brings the total raised for the season to £753. Many thanks to all who contributed. Over the last 3 seasons the foreign currency campaign has raised over £2,170 for the DF.

If you are taking your holiday abroad this summer, please drop any leftover banknotes and coins into the BP Boost barrels at one of the friendlies or early league matches to get the next season’s foreign currency campaign off to a flying start.

If you’re of a certain age and old enough to remember shillings and sixpences?

Even British coins from pre-1971 decimalisation still have some value, look for those old shillings, sixpences, florins and half-crowns and we can exchange these too. Also, the large 50p, 10p and 5p pieces withdrawn from circulation more than 20 years ago can be cashed in and of course the recent old round £1 coins.

Remember, no matter where in the world your holiday/work destination takes you the currency in your pocket, no matter how small can help your club. So let’s all make a big effort to find our hoard of unused and lonely coins/notes and turn them into useful cash for the club’s Development Fund.

You can drop them off at the Clubs office during the week or save them up to drop off in the barrels on match days.

Many thanks to our London supporters branch who regularly exchange the foreign/old currency on behalf of the DF throughout the year.

Thanks, Danke, Merci, Gracias,

FCUM
