SQUAD NEWS: Michael Donohue We are delighted to announce that Michael Donohue has accepted Neil Reynolds invitation to remain at the club for a second season.

Donohue (21) joined FC United on loan from Fleetwood Town in September 2018 and made 36 appearances for the Reds last season. Having been released from Fleetwood in January 2019, he joined FC on a permanent deal.

Manager Neil Reynolds said “My target for Donners is to get him playing back in the football league. The lad has so much talent and although we want to keep him at FC United to help us on our journey, I have no doubt that if Donners can develop consistency into his game then he has a real chance of attracting interest from clubs higher up the pyramid. Donners is a real professional and is looking forward to helping FC united moving forward.”

Donohue said “I’m made up to be back and when Reno gave me the call and said he wanted to keep me, I couldn’t be happier. I played a large part in the club last season, and I want to help maintain the club’s status back in the National League North.”

Donohue began his career with Everton, moving on loan to Barrow in February 2016. He signed for Fleetwood Town in July 2017, making his senior debut for the club on 8 November 2017 in an EFL Trophy match against Carlisle United.
